measuring frequency (multimeter and logger)

i measured frequency in oscilloscope mode and was pretty happy with it. i was wondering why there is not frequency measurement on the multimeter section. But what i am really missing is to measure frequency in the datalogger. From "ticks/time" over the measurment period to "avg frequency during the given timeperiod.

I came across this as I wanted to measure sensor output (wind, so reed contacts) over a longer period to time but the datalogger is only taking voltage (and no calcualtion), current or temperature.
