Diode forward voltage measurement
Hi-
Will there be an update such that when you test the forward voltage of a diode the meter will show the actual forward voltage versus the current .000 for open circuit or 1.000 when it sees a diode? Showing the actual voltage is much better as you can see if its a single or multiple diodes in series or the zener voltage of a low voltage zener (say 2V) or the forward voltage of a pn junction, etc.
Thanks,
Kirk

Hi Kirk,
Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, Pokit can only measure diodes up to less than 1.2V because of the nature of the hardware and the battery it uses. So at the moment, we are only using it a polarity indicator, it won't work with Zener diodes above 1.2V.
Hope this answers your question.
I'll move this post to feature requests.
Thank you

Hi-
I would be better to show the actual diode forward voltage- even if the maximum the meter can measure is 1.2V.
Thanks,
Kirk

+1 (It was one of the improvements I suggested from my beta-testing)
