    Hi All,

What Arne is saying is what should be happening. If you couldn't connect to Pokit before the App update, you wouldn't be able to do either after the App update. The Android connection issue is solved by updating both, the App and the firmware. So in order to update the firmware, you will need to borrow (from a friend or family member) a different mobile phone or device and use it to update the firmware. Only after the firmware update, the connection issue to a Samsung S7 or S5 will be fixed.

This was mentioned on the Release Notes here: https://help.pokitmeter.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017783693-Pokit-New-Firmware-Release-V1-4

    Hope this makes sense now.

    Thanks.

I've had the same problem when trying to update using my P20 Pro and Android 9. Updated first time when connected to my iPad though, so it's not a hardware issue .....

I got the exact same issue (I’m using Samsung S7e)

I tried to connect the Pokit to another Samsung s7, but the app could not even find Pokit, even though I am sure I had disconnected it from the S7e

I then tried to connect on a S5, but it will not connection either (the app even start crashing and shutting down)

Then I tried to reconnect to S7e and it does find Pokit immediately, but the FW upgrade still does not go to more than 35 % and then it disconnects. This happens all the time.

Then I tried to download the app to my iPad and update the FW from here, and now everything went fine…

I face the same problem and managed it by bypassing my Honor8 with my business phone (samsung A5). Everything works fine now. BT connection is now stable.

I was able to update using another Android phone.

I've updated the Android app and have been trying to update the firmware on my pokitMeter. Every time the firmware update starts it gets so far and then the pokitMeter disconnects. The furthest my upload has got is about 45%. I've tried new batteries  but not help!

    Any suggestions please?

Rex, I got mine to work just by using a different android device. I guess there's an issue with some devices.

    Hi Rex and George,

Some Android devices are having connectivity problems, that why the new Firmware version was released. If you have a smartphone which has this connectivity issue you won't be able to connect to Pokit properly and update the firmware.

As we mentioned in our comment above:

If you couldn't connect to Pokit before the App update, you wouldn't be able to do either after the App update. The Android connection issue is solved by updating both, the App and the firmware. So in order to update the firmware, you will need to borrow (from a friend or family member) a different mobile phone or device and use it to update the firmware. Only after the firmware update, the connection issue to a Samsung S7 or S5 will be fixed.

    Hope this helps.
