Issues with website login, app login
So I finally bought the range tester module today, and it looks nice, but I was about to give up.
It took me a long time to finally notice that the app loginname/password is a different one than the website login name/password. Which is again a different one than the forum loginname/password (which I am using now).
Then I had to create a new password, but somehow the iOS Pokit app does not talk to the iOS password manager, so I had to invent and type in a password by hand. Twice. And remember it. Because the password manager cannot remember it.
And it is very precise about what it wants (numbers, special characters), but it does not tell you what it wants. It only tells you what is wrong with your password after you have typed it in twice. And then it wants a special character in the password. And then it does not consider "-" to be a special character.
And then when you are finally logged in, with the same email as used for your purchase, and you've waited half an hour, your purchase still does not show up. So you have to type in the whole purchase id by hand...
This isn't a seamless experience....

Hi Jack Jansen, thanks for your feedback regarding the experience you had with logging in.
I have forwarded this to our software engineer for necessary action.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

I agree with Jack - this is a quite frustrating process. I have been a supporter of both Pokit meter kickstarters and have really enjoyed the products although the original is still my favourite for what I normally do. As I have been overseas for an extended time the meters have been locked away and I only just dug out my gear today to do a few measurements.
It was bad enough that I had to login to an account to use my device (a new "feature"?) and then to have such a poorly implemented process was quite a disappointment. Not impressed.

Hey Neil Gray. Apologies for the inconvenience. I agree that the account creation process is not as smooth as expected. This has been reported to our app team for improvement.
However, account creation is only necessary if you will be using any of the paid add-on modules (Range Tester, Power Analyzer soon, etc.) as it's the way for the app to verify your license to access them.
If you are just trying to use the Multimeter, Oscilloscope, or Logger modes, there is no need to create an account and you should be able to use your device with the app as is.
If that is not the case for you, please submit a support ticket so we can take a look at it.0
