Magnetic Mounting Modification for Automotive Diagnostics
Working on cars doesn't really lend itself to convenient meter placement. Sometimes we're working inside doors, under vehicles, or on engine sensors placed in every imaginable position. pokitMeter's wireless connectivity and short leads are convenient, allowing me to place the meter anywhere and view data remotely, even on a test drive, but I think it needs a couple of mounting options to avoid lead damage in case there's no convenient flat surface for the body of the unit.
I used JB Weld two-part epoxy to affix a magnet to pokitMeter's battery case, which allows me greater flexibility in mounting the device on available metal surfaces, which abound in automotive applications. Of course, this won't work on aluminum and CFRP, but this simple modification is super helpful in most cases.
