Can the PokeItPro be used to measure capacitors in-circuit like and ESR Meter? Thanks, Jeremy

  Hi all, thanks for the question.

  Pokit Pro won't be able to measure capacitors in-circuit because the method we use to measure capacitance assumes that the capacitor is out of circuit.

  Thanks for writing back, and for answering the question. How does the pokit pro measure capacitance? Would it be possible with just a software/programming change to take the capacitance measurement from a capacitor still soldered to a PCB?

  Well, if the capacitor had another one paralleled with it there would be no way to tell them apart. It is a bit less obvious if the circuit was more complex...
