When you launch the app, a bar with Pokit should appear in the middle of the screen. Clicking that bar should pair with your Pokit. Make sure you have removed the paper transit insulator from under the battery or your Pokit wont power on. Also make sure that the fuse carrier under the battery is properly seated too as some have come loose in transit.

Ok thought I'd just change the fuse for the spare just to see what happens and now it appears in the app the problem I have now is the voltage is wildly inaccurate and resistance etc... don't work at all the temps ok though?

I haven't done a great deal of checking, but some quick DC voltage measurements on batteries and resistance checks on resistors I had lying around suggest DC voltage and resistance measurements appear accurate. However, temperature is badly off - 5 degrees C or more.
