Place the current mode switch on the screen rather than as a popup

When scrolling through the meter modes the current modes throw a popup on the screen which interrupts the natural flow.

Instead of a popup can you place the switch as a switch on the screen, top right or similar, to avoid the popup.

I believe this is a more natural user experience.
