Independent Open-Source Desktop GUI for Pokit meters like Pokit Pro (Forge Open Bench-FOB)

I wanted to share an independent, open-source project I've been working on for desktop users (tested on Linux; macOS and Windows builds are upcoming).

Forge Open Bench (FOB) is a local-first, zero-telemetry hardware instrumentation workbench. It aims to turn a laptop, Raspberry Pi, or single-board computer into a clean, cloud-free electronics lab with no subscriptions or accounts required.

The platform features PocketForge, a third-party plugin that connects to the Pokit Pro or Pokit Meter over Web Bluetooth (or a local Python BLE bridge). It streams real-time multimeter readings, data logging, and 1-channel oscilloscope traces straight into a unified, multi-device desktop workspace.

⚠️ Important Compliance & Safety Note: This is a completely independent, third-party community project. It is not affiliated with, certified by, or endorsed by Pokit Innovations.

Pokit Pro carries official IEC 61010 safety compliance (CE marking) that covers the hardware only when paired specifically with the official Pokit app. Because this software operates outside of that ecosystem, safety-relevant functions—such as live/hold status, absolute measurement accuracy, and overload indications—are not covered by Pokit's CE compliance when accessed via PocketForge. Please use it responsibly in your local engineering environments.

Protocol support was built strictly from publicly observable device characteristics, the public datasheets, and existing open-source community repositories. No proprietary documentation, NDA material, or active developer collaboration was provided by Pokit Innovations.
