    Hello cyb3rn0id

If your Pokit Pro is advertising as “ProEOL”, then it is likely that the Pokit Pro wasn’t correctly set out of test mode before it left the factory (due to a now fixed issue in the logic on the testing machine), the good news is your unit is still ok because the only effect that this should have had is to not have updated the test mode correctly. The other good news is this issue can be fixed in the field by you.
To fix it, first, have the Pokit Pro plugged in to charge and download “Simplicity Connect” from either Apple or Google app store (versions are available on both platforms).
In Simplicity Connect, follow the below instructions:
    1.    Simplicity Connect will automatically search for nearby BLE devices, in order to refine your search, you can use the filter option to look for devices with “ProEOL” or "Pro" in their name.

    2.    Once you have found the target device select connect
The Test mode can be reset by writing the following two commands (one after the other) in the BLE characteristic shown in the image below:
    1.    ControlVar,0
    2.    PRMSAVE

    Figure 1 – BLE Characteristic
If you make a mistake and type an invalid command the BLE connection will drop, and you will have to start again.
Once the unit test state is reset, to confirm the Pokit Pro is working correctly you can rescan for devices and the Pokit Pro should now advertise as “PokitPro” (you may need to disconnect to scan for the name change).
Make sure to disconnect from the Pokit Pro or close the “Simplicity Connect” app otherwise the Pokit app will not be able to scan for the Pokit Pro.
    Apologies for the inconvenience.

I've just received my pokit pro (Dec 2024) and it has the issue described above so it's not fixed. Following these instructions has resolved it.
